CNOA Annual Awards
Each year the California Narcotic Officers' Association recognizes law enforcement professionals and citizens for outstanding work in the area of narcotics enforcement. Nominations are accepted annually — consider nominating a deserving officer or civilian.
Recognizing Those Who Serve
We are currently accepting nominations for the following awards. Please consider nominating an outstanding law enforcement officer or civilian for this annual honor and recognition. Nominations are due to your region chairperson by July 1st each year.
Alfred E. Stewart Award
Distinguished Service in Drug Enforcement
This honor is granted annually to a member of law enforcement who has distinguished himself or herself through dedicated service and personal achievement in drug enforcement duties.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a sworn law enforcement officer
- Must be a member in good standing with CNOA
- Demonstrated dedication to drug enforcement duties
- Personal achievement in narcotics investigations

Lucky Narc Award
Outstanding Investigative Technique & Fortunate Outcome
A special award given to an officer who experienced an event while enforcing narcotic laws that exhibited not only good investigative techniques but where luck was a major factor in the case. The award is not meant to recognize unsafe or poor tactics, nor should it bring embarrassment to the individual or his/her agency.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a member of CNOA
- Demonstrated sound investigative techniques
- Luck played a significant role in the outcome
- Case must not involve unsafe or poor tactics

Prosecutor of the Year Award
Excellence in Narcotic Law Prosecution
The Prosecutor of the Year Award was established to identify, recognize, and honor prosecutors throughout California who are committed to the strong enforcement of narcotic laws. This person should be selected on the basis of a long-standing record of contributions, or for his or her extraordinary efforts as a prosecutor.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be an active prosecutor in California
- Long-standing record of contributions to narcotic law enforcement
- Extraordinary efforts in prosecuting narcotic cases
- Commitment to strong enforcement of narcotic laws

How to Submit a Nomination
Select an Award
Review the three award categories and identify which best fits the officer or civilian you wish to nominate.
Prepare Your Nomination
Write a detailed account of the nominee's qualifications, achievements, and why they deserve recognition.
Submit by July 1st
Email your completed nomination to your region chairperson or directly to [email protected] before the deadline.

All award nominations are submitted through the official CNOA statewide portal. Applications are due to regional chairpersons by July 1st and to CNOA Headquarters by August 1st.
